If your store uses the Oberlo app to fulfill orders, you'll want to make sure that your buyer has access to it once they become the new store owner.
To hand ownership of Oberlo to your buyer, first head to the Oberlo app in your Shopify account.
From Oberlo, click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. That will take you to the profile page:
Change the name and email to your buyer's information. Then, create a new unique password for the buyer. Be sure to give this password to your buyer, they will need to change it once they become the new store owner.
Do you also use Oberlo Supply?
If so, you may also have a credit card on file with your Oberlo account. To remove the card, click the Settings cog near the bottom of the left menu. Then, go to the Suppliers tab.
From here you can remove the credit card. Once your buyer takes ownership of the account they can link their own card to use Oberlo Supply.
Important: Do not delete the Oberlo app before transferring ownership. This could result in the products being unlinked.
What if the buyer already has an Oberlo account?
Oberlo limits the number of accounts that can use the same email address to one. If your buyer's email address is already being used by an Oberlo account, there are two options:
- You should ask the buyer to change the email address that they are using for their other account to something else.
- Or, you can ask the buyer if there is a different email address you can add to get around the one store per email address limit.
