Found a business you're interested in buying? The first step is to message the seller directly from their listing. You just need to provide your name and email address along with your message.
When the seller responds, you'll get an email at the email address that is associated with your buyer profile. To respond back, reply directly to the email from the seller. You can also respond directly to the seller through your buyer inbox, which can be accessed by clicking the "Reply" button through your email.
Alternatively, you can access your buyer inbox on desktop by clicking on your name in the top-right hand of your screen as in the below image, followed by clicking "Inbox".
If you happen to be using the Exchange Marketplace on your mobile device or tablet and wish to access your buyer inbox, you will need to access the menu in the top left of your screen and then click "Inbox".
Is the email address kept private?
Your email is kept private until the seller is notified that they must create a staff account for you on the Shopify account.
After you've paid into your Escrow transaction, the seller will be notified that they need to start transferring assets to you. At this point, they will see the email address that is associated with your buyer profile so that they can create a staff account with it. It is important that this email address is used for your staff account in order for the Exchange process to move forward correctly.
